Diversity

The Simon Lab wants to do science as part of a diverse community. We strive to build an inclusive environment that fosters diverse perspectives and contributions from scientists with different life experiences. We see this diversity as essential to our interconnected missions of training and research. We recognize that academic advancement is often structurally biased against people based on factors such as race, gender, sexual orientation, birthplace, and socioeconomic background. We are committed to working to counteract these trends and promote a more just scientific community by helping aspiring scientists from every background achieve their goals, and we enthusiastically welcome trainees from underrepresented groups to join our team.
