About

The Simon Lab aims to create an inclusive environment that fosters diverse perspectives. This diversity is essential to our interconnected missions of training and research. Research in the lab is collaborative and interdisciplinary. Our work focuses on the development of chemical and biochemical tools to characterize the mechanisms that control gene expression, especially through chromatin and RNA biology. Training in the lab is intended to help each lab member develop into a creative, rigorous, and independent scientist. We believe a strong community is the foundation of successful science. While our emphasis is on basic science, we direct our work toward contributions that have the potential to improve our understanding and treatment of disease.
